Campsis grandiflora (also known as Chinese trumpet vine, Chinese Pinyin: Zi Wei, Simplified Chinese: 紫葳, 中国霄, 凌霄花, 大花凌霄, 五爪龙, 红花倒水莲, 倒挂金钟, 上树龙, 堕胎花, 藤萝花), is a species of annual fast-growing, deciduous creeper with large, orange, trumpet-shaped flowers in genus Campsis (botanical bignonias family, Bignoniaceae). Native to East Asia, China and Japan, the root, stem, leaves and flower of Campsis grandiflora are used as hemostatic, antipruritic and emmenagogue in traditional Chinese medicine (CTM) and widely adopted in treating different diseases and health problems, such as abnormal vaginal bleeding during pregnancy.
 
2. ODOUR, PROPERTIES AND CHANNELS:
The root and flower of Campsis grandiflora are considered to have sour, mildly cold and nontoxic properties and to be associated with the liver meridians.
The stem and leaves of Campsis grandiflora are considered to have bitter, neutral and nontoxic properties and to be associated with the liver meridians.
